KKCRA JOINS NEWLY ORDAINED PRIESTS IN THANKSGIVING CELEBRATIONS ACROSS KIGEZI
The Kigezi Kampala Catholics Residents Association (KKCRA) has joined the 13 newly ordained priests in celebrating Thanksgiving Masses held in their respective ancestral homes, villages and parishes across Kigezi.
The priests were ordained on Saturday during the celebrations marking the 60th anniversary of Kabale Diocese. Following their ordination, they began their Thanksgiving celebrations yesterday, with Masses held in their home communities and continuing today.
In each village and parish, KKCRA has been strongly represented, with members turning up to celebrate with the newly ordained priests, their families and the wider Catholic community.
The Association has been at the core of organising and mobilising Catholics from Kigezi living in Kampala and other urban centres, strengthening the connection between the faithful in Kampala and their home parishes.
The newly ordained priests are:
Rev. Fr. Adon Aturinde — Queen of Martyrs, Nyakishenyi Parish
Rev. Fr. Cyril Arthur Ayebazibwe — St. Barnabas Karujanga Parish
Rev. Fr. Deusdedit Niwagaba — Our Lady of Good Shepherd, Rushoroza Cathedral Parish
Rev. Fr. Ivan Ndamira — St. Mary’s Mutolere Parish
Rev. Fr. Justus Turyatunga — Immaculate Heart of Mary, Rubanda Parish
Rev. Fr. Sostine Mugisha — Our Lady of Lourdes, Muko Parish
Rev. Fr. Syrus Aharizira — Our Lady of Fatima, Makiro Parish
Rev. Fr. Anakeleti Maridadi, AJ — St. Augustine Rutenga Parish
Rev. Fr. Prosper Turihamwe, AJ — St. Peter’s Muchahi Parish
Rev. Fr. Sosteni Turyasingura, AJ — Immaculate Heart of Mary, Rubanda Parish
Rev. Fr. Tom Twinomujuni, AJ — St. Luke Muhanga Parish

The Thanksgiving celebrations have provided an opportunity for the newly ordained priests to return to the communities that nurtured their faith and vocation, while receiving prayers, blessings and goodwill from family members, friends and fellow Catholics.
The priests have been granted one month of leave following their ordination. After the leave period, they will be assigned to different parishes where they will begin their pastoral ministry.
KKCRA congratulates the 13 newly ordained priests and their families and joins the entire Catholic community in praying that God grants them wisdom, courage, holiness and strength as they begin their priestly ministry.

The Mass was led by Fr. Tibemanya Ireneus, Dean of Rubanda Deanery, with co-celebrant priests, and animated by the faithful of Rubanda Deanery. In his homily, Fr.
