Palm Sunday message from KKCRA chairman.

Image
Dear all, Welcome to the celebration of Palm Sunday, the Sunday of the Lord’s Passion. We thank our Hosts in this place for welcoming us to celebrate Palm Sunday. We should always treat our gathering in  this Holy place as a special spiritual gift, a pilgrimage to the Uganda Martyrs Shrine. The significance of the pilgrimage should permeate our thoughts every time we come to this Holy place. The Church celebrates this sixth Sunday of Lent as both Palm Sunday and Passion Sunday. This is the point in the Liturgical year when the Church invites to  remember and relive the events which brought about our redemption and salvation. What we commemorate and  relive during this week is not just Jesus’ dying and rising, but our own dying to sin and selfishness and rising in Jesus, which will result in our healing, reconciliation, and redemption. Attentive participation in the  Holy Week liturgy will deepen our relationship with God, increase our  Faith, and str...

Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord: The beginning of the Holy Week, leading to Easter. by Rev  Fr. Godfrey CYIZA, JCD, - Caretaker KKCRA. Today is a commemoration of the Triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem ahead of his passion and death. On this day, we are called to take a flashback on how we have fulfilled our Lenten observance, and then prepare for the intense celebrations of the Holy Week and Easter festivities. At the beginning of the procession, outside the Church, we shall listen to the following instruction by the priest:  “Dear brothers and sisters, since the beginning of Lent until now we have prepared our hearts by penance and charitable works. Today we gather together to herald with the whole Church the beginning of the celebration of our Lord's paschal mystery, that is to say, of his Passion and Resurrection. For it was to accomplish this mystery that he entered his own city of Jerusalem. Therefore, with all faith and devotion, let us commemor...

Why You Should Start Holy Week at Uganda Martyrs Shrine Namugongo .

A Pilgrimage for the Soul and the Earth, by Davis Owomugisha  Tomorrow is Palm Sunday,  the beginning of Holy Week, a sacred journey that leads us through the story of Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem, His suffering, death, and glorious resurrection. As Christians around the world wave palm branches, we remember the palms that welcomed Christ, symbols of peace, hope, and surrender. But here in Uganda, Palm Sunday holds even deeper meaning when connected to the ground where faith was tested and lives were poured out like living prayers.  That sacred ground is Namugongo  the place where the Martyrs of Uganda gave everything rather than deny Christ.  In the late 19th century, in the heart of Buganda, young men, servants, pages, and soldiers  embraced Christianity even when it meant defying the king’s orders. They were arrested, beaten, and forced to walk from Munyonyo to Namugongo, over long, dusty miles of land where trees stood tall and skies were wid...

Hon. Dr. Protazio Begumisa, the Member of Parliament-elect for Ndorwa East Constituency, has called for tolerance and inclusivity in leadership, urging Christians and the general public to support individuals who present themselves for elective positions regardless of their religious affiliation. Dr. Begumisa made the remarks during the Rushoroza Kyanamira Parish Kampala Muruka monthly Mass held at MUBS Chapel in Nakawa, where he addressed congregants on the challenges associated with political participation and the need for unity within communities. He described his political experience as one marked by significant personal and financial strain, noting that the process often exposes candidates to hostility, social division, and criticism. He stated that the demands of political engagement can at times create a sense of isolation, even within one’s own community. Despite these challenges, the MP-elect characterized himself as “resilient,” indicating that perseverance had en...

From Vision to Victory When a school presents its first Primary Seven candidates, it is more than an academic exercise. It is a test of: 1. Leadership vision 2. Curriculum strength 3.
