Kabale Diocesean Seminarians impress at Ggaba Graduation as Academic Excellence Shines in Religious and Pastoral Studies
Ggaba, Kampala — May 21, 2026
Academic excellence and priestly formation took centre stage today at St. Mary’s National Major Seminary Ggaba as seminarians from across Uganda and Tanzania graduated with Diplomas in Religious and Pastoral Studies.
The diplomas were conferred on behalf of the Uganda Episcopal Conference by Bishop Robert Mihiirwa during a colourful ceremony marked by thanksgiving, joy, and celebration of dedication to the service of the Church.
This year’s graduation attracted attention for its strong academic performance, with several seminarians emerging with exceptional grades in theological and pastoral formation.

Leading the overall performance were:
1. Katerega Patrick — Kiyinda-Mityana Diocese — 85%
2. Musiku Alexander — Masaka Diocese — 85%
3. Oketcho Ignatius — Kotido Diocese — 84%
4. Matovu Gyavilla — Masaka Diocese — 82%
5. Ajiku Caesar — Lira Diocese — 81%
6. Mutu Johnson — Arua Diocese — 81%
7. Muruhura Thomas — Mbarara Archdiocese — 80%
8. Kaweesa James — Kampala Archdiocese — 80%
9. Godfrey Ian — Bunda Diocese — 80%

For Kabale Diocese, the graduation ceremony was equally a moment of pride as five seminarians attained Second Class Upper Diplomas, reflecting commendable academic strength and commitment to formation.

The Kabale Diocesan graduands include:

Deacon Aturinda Aaron
Deacon Beinomugisha Peregrino
Deacon Nahurira Ivan
Deacon Turyatunga Justus
