KKCRA OFFICIALLY COMMENCES NOMINATION AND VETTING PROCESS FOR NEW LEADERS
Kampala, Uganda – May 2026
The leadership of the Kigezi-Kampala Catholic Residents Association (KKCRA) has officially launched the nominations and vetting process ahead of the election of new association leaders scheduled for July 2026.
In a communication released by the KKCRA Executive Committee, members were informed that a dedicated Nominations and Vetting Committee has been constituted to oversee a transparent, credible, and participatory electoral process aimed at strengthening leadership and service within the association.
The committee has already commenced its work and elected Mr. Dan Batekereza as Secretary of the Vetting Committee.
The committee is chaired by Dr. Raphael Arinaitwe and deputized by Mr. Anaclet Turyakira, alongside several respected members drawn from the KKCRA community.
Positions Open for Nomination
KKCRA members have been invited to express interest or nominate suitable candidates for various leadership positions including:

Vice Chairman
Secretary
Deputy Secretary
Treasurer
Deputy Treasurer
Publicity Secretary
Vice Publicity Secretary
Leadership and Empowerment Secretary
Lay Apostolate Secretary
Secretary for Liturgy
Youth Affairs Secretary
Ssabaffumbo
Nnabaffumbo
Logistics and Operations Coordinator
Diaspora Coordinator
According to the committee guidelines, members may contest for more than one position, but not exceeding three positions.
Roadmap Towards Elections
The Vetting Committee also unveiled a roadmap outlining the election process.
The first committee meeting was held on 15th May 2026 at Christ the King Parish Kampala, where election procedures and timelines were agreed upon.
The nomination and expression of interest phase officially opened on 17th May 2026 and will close on 31st May 2026.
All applicants are required to submit completed expression of interest forms endorsed by two active KKCRA members.
Following the submission phase, the committee will embark on screening and verification of applicants between 1st and 5th June 2026.
The final election of new leaders is scheduled to take place on the third Sunday of July 2026, where members are expected to gather in large numbers to elect leaders who will guide the association into its next chapter.
Call for Unity and Participation
The KKCRA Executive Committee has encouraged all members to actively participate in the process and uphold unity, transparency, and commitment to the values of the association.
“This exercise is intended to strengthen servant leadership and deepen the shared mission of KKCRA,” the communication noted.
