Fr. Buhalagarha Warns Against Doubt as Kyanamira Faithful Celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday

DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY: FR. BALTHAZARD BUHALAGARHA CALLS CHRISTIANS TO LIVE MERCY AND STRENGTHEN FAITH
Kyanamira, Kabale District .
Christians celebrating Divine Mercy Sunday at St. Francis of Assisi Kyanamira Parish have been urged to show mercy to others through love, forgiveness, and helping their neighbors with good advice.
Delivering his homily during the Divine Mercy Sunday Mass, Rev. Fr. Balthazard Buhalagarha, Curate (Assistant Priest) at St. Francis of Assisi Kyanamira Parish, called on believers to imitate God’s mercy, reminding them that God showed perfect love by giving His only Son, Jesus Christ, to die for humanity on the cross.
Fr. Buhalagarha cautioned Christians against weak faith and doubt, pointing to the example of Apostle Thomas, who refused to believe in the resurrection of Jesus until he touched Christ’s wounds.
He encouraged the faithful to build strong trust in God even when they cannot physically see Him.
“Let us not be like Thomas who doubted, but let us believe with faithful hearts,” Fr. Buhalagarha told the congregation.
He further reminded worshippers that the peace and the Holy Spirit Jesus gave to His disciples after the resurrection should remain alive among Christians today, guiding them to live in unity, compassion, and forgiveness.
Fr. Balthazard Buhalagarha serves as one of the pioneer assistant priests at St. Francis Kyanamira Parish, a new parish inaugurated in August 2025 as the 42nd parish of Kabale Diocese under the Missionaries of Africa congregation.

The Divine Mercy Sunday celebration attracted many Christians from Kyanamira and surrounding outstations, as believers reflected on the message of mercy, faith, and Christ’s resurrection victory.
