Bishop Callist Confirms 275 Christians at Newly Inaugurated Kyanamira Parish
Kyanamira Parish, Kabale Diocese Tuesday 16th December 2025.
The Bishop of Kabale Diocese, Rt. Rev. Callist Rubaramira, presided over a solemn Confirmation Mass at Kyanamira Parish, during which 275 Christians were confirmed into the Catholic faith. The celebration marked a major milestone for the parish, which was officially inaugurated in August 2025.
In his homily, Bishop Rubaramira urged Christians to remain steadfast in their faith and to seek God without delay. He reminded the faithful that the Advent season is a sacred time of spiritual renewal and preparation for the celebration of the birth of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
The Bishop expressed joy at the visible growth and development of Kyanamira Parish despite its young age. He commended the Missionary Fathers serving in the parish for their dedication and tireless commitment to nurturing the spiritual and social well-being of the Christian community.
The Confirmation ceremony was attended by Godparents and local leaders, including Hon. Wilfred Niwagaba, the Member of Parliament for Ndorwa East, and Hon. Catherine Ndamira, the Kabale District Woman Member of Parliament. In their remarks, the leaders encouraged Christians to remain united and to prioritize household development as a foundation for sustainable community growth.
They reaffirmed their support for initiatives aimed at poverty alleviation, particularly through animal rearing programs, and emphasized youth empowerment as a key pillar for economic self-reliance.
