Maria Eldern High School Kacuro Licensed as Kyanamira Catholic Parish Grows Stronger

KYANAMIRA, KABALE — September 27, 2025
The newly established Kyanamira Catholic Parish continues to register growth and success, with its flagship institution, Maria Eldern High School Kacuro, officially receiving an operational licence from the Ministry of Education and Sports.

The licence was announced by Head Teacher Silver Begambagye during a thanksgiving Mass, attended by parishioners, parents, and local leaders. He described it as a “landmark achievement” that not only raises the school’s academic standing but also strengthens the parish’s role in promoting holistic education.

> “This licence gives us a solid foundation as we prepare for full registration and the awarding of a UCE centre number,” Begambagye said. “It confirms that Kyanamira Parish is on the right path of shaping the future of our children.”

The development comes just weeks after the official inauguration of Kyanamira Parish by Rt. Rev. Callist Rubaramira, Bishop of Kabale Diocese. Parishioners view the school’s licensing as an early sign that the new parish will play a central role in uplifting the community spiritually, academically, and socially.

Delivering the homily, Rev. Fr. Balthazar Ndyomugabe, member of the Board of Governors, reminded students that discipline and faith must go hand in hand with academics:

> “This parish was born to bring services closer to the people. Maria Eldern High School is part of that mission. Learners, stay focused and do not let immorality or distractions steal your future.”

PTA Chairperson Malchori Ahimbisibwe urged parents to increase enrollment and stand firmly with the parish in growing its institutions.
Board member Jacinta Tinzaarwa encouraged learners to work closely with teachers while calling on the community to resist spoiling students with destructive habits.
